This individual will be responsible for developing and deploying a common cloud strategy supporting Otis World Headquarters IoT product deployments. They will be provide guidance on cloud support vendors and 24/7 support models for Otis’ connect elevator and escalator products. They will work closely with Engineering senior leadership and product development teams to create a DevOps process and governance. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise on all aspects related to data ingestion, services/microservices, and app development in the cloud. In addition, they will work in partnership with the business teams in the regions to deploy these solutions to customers.


  • Stay abreast of technology/industry trends and innovation
  • Develop high level cloud architecture design and identify product design gaps
  • Develop multi year cloud roadmaps supporting product development and apps teams
  • Work closely with business leaders to document personas, use cases, & journey maps for cloud
  • Provide detailed technical specifications in an agile project environment
  • Deliver a multi-tiered support model for the cloud
  • Identify, manage, and escalate project risks
  • Lead organizational change management tasks specific to IoT and Digital
  • Internet of Things solution design
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Strong program management capability - demonstrated ability to lead & manage large-scale, complicated IT projects
  • Strong business aptitude - ability to learn, understand and interpret business processes; ability to act in partnership with the business and be recognized as a valued contributor to business results
  • Results oriented with intense focus on success and achievement despite obstacles both within and outside of direct control
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts concisely to non-IT business professionals
  • Ability to work with multiple global locations
  • Excellent understanding of the software development process, particularly agile methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to conduct presentations to large organizations, as well as to executive and upper management teams
  • Develop relationships with strategic technology partners / vendors
  • IoT Solution Design, cloud performance and connectivity stress testing
  • Extensive deployment experience with cloud technology stack (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Strong knowledge and experience working within Engineering/Manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging data to solve complex business problems
  • Proven experience in working global IT projects – demonstrate past project experience in working with onshore and offshore resources, software vendors, and global deployment locations
  • 10+ years of experience leading large change management projects or infrastructure projects
  • Experience leading cybersecurity and threat assessments
  • Experience working with and achieving compliance to industry (ie ISO) and regulatory requirements for cloud computing
  • Experience deploying connected assets on public networks
Education information
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
  • MBA / Master's degree preferred
